My day at goodwill. What would you have done?

So I went to goodwill today and some things didn't go exactly as planned...

Well, An African american woman was at the checkout area she asked to leave her items at the counter while she continued to shop and the cashier told her no.  A minute later a white lady went to the counter to ask if she could leave her items there and was allowed to hold items in the front of the store.  I came to the check out counter as the situation played out and as the african american lady was purchasing her items she noticed the white lady who was allowed to hold her items at the front of the store who was also checking out at the same time.  She questioned the cashier as to why the policy change was unfair.  The cashier called for the manager Who came down with the assistant manager and the cashier held the lady's bag so she couldn't leave until she talked.  Her reasoning was they wanted her to leave happy.  Meanwhile the customer was saying " I don't care, I want to leave"  She grabbed her bag and was trying to walk out, but yet the manager insisted on fixing the misunderstanding but the african american woman just wanted to leave and was upset about the situation. But later she ended up walking out of the store in frustration.
      What do you think:
1) Do you think this was an accident or something racial ?
2) Would you have stepped up to help the woman?
3) Would you have said anything to the manager about the situation?

  1. I took a bunch of friends to a local club to watch a band playing. We where all mixed races and just wanted to have a good night. then out of nowhere some guy went off on one of my black friend when he was away from our group, instead of causing a scene he simply turned and left the bar and was going to walk home. Thankfully the owner saw what happened thru the ass out who was harrasing my friend and he came back and we got free drinks
